7 News Brisbane asked me to comment on the connection of new National Broadband Network (NBN) sites. Asked about the cost for rural users, I said:

“It is going to be the government’s responsibility to ensure that this infrastructure is as available [to rural users] as everyone else, and if that means subsidising rural areas, so be it.”

Electronic Frontiers Australia has long pushed for equality of Internet access for rural users, including in the NBN rollout.
